As part of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth (http://www.fwepiscopal.org ), we are a constituent member parish of the worldwide Anglican Communion, under the leadership of our Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Remember this. When people choose to withdraw far from a fire, the fire continues to give warmth, but they grow cold. When people choose to withdraw far from light, the light continues to be bright in itself but they are in darkness. This is also the case when people withdraw from God. - St Augustine

Everything in this life passes away, only God remains, only He is worth struggling towards. We have a choice: to follow the way of this world, of the society that surrounds us, and thereby find ourselves outside of God; or to choose the way of true life, to choose God Who calls us and for Whom our heart is always searching.
Let us pray and donate for relief and support.

I do not think that all who choose wrong roads perish; but their rescue consists in being put back on the right road. A sum can be put right: but only by going back til you find the error and working it afresh from that point, never by simply going on. C. S. Lewis
“Pilate was merciful till it became risky.” C. S. Lewis, “The Screwtape Letters.”
Christ, who said to the disciples "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you," can truly say to every group of Christian friends "You have not chosen one another but I have chosen you for one another. C. S. Lewis
Be sure to rest in the Lord this morning at St John's. We celebrate the Holy Eucharist at 8:00 am, 9:00 am and 11:15 am. Let us pray: "O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: Increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that, with you as our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever." Amen
How could an idiotic universe have produced creatures whose mere dreams are so much stronger, better, subtler than itself? C. S. Lewis
There is no holiness without renunciation and spiritual battle.
Man approaches God most nearly when he is in one sense least like God. For what can be more unlike than fullness and need, sovereignty and humility, righteousness and penitence, limitless power and a cry for help? C.S. Lewis
Today, from sacred Scripture we see the awesome power of words spoken by Jesus and the touch of His Hand. His words and touch have full authority and power over our final enemy, death. (1 Cor 15:26) His words and touch are our hope to be raised from the dead, along with all our loved ones who sleep in Christ. (1 Cor 15:18) Join us today at 8:00, 9:00 or 11:15 am.
